Palm are arguably the pioneer of the PDA right from the original Palm Pilot in the mid-90′s through to today’s Treo Pro. What started off as a modest 512kB PDA has today morphed into a sophisticated multimedia device. No longer a simple PDA, no longer a simple phone.

The screen on the Treo Pro is a 320 x 320 touchscreen which is fairly unusual, I can think of only a few other devices that run at this res. This can cause problems with some third-party software so if you plan to use anything on the Treo you’ll want to check it’s compatible. The LCD screen also seems quite well set back from the flush front of the device. For me it makes stylus use feel a bit strange and somehow disconnected from what I see on screen.

UBiQUiO 503G unboxing video

The UBiQUiO 503G in this unboxing video was actually a pre-production unit so it’s not a full unbox as such.

The UBiQUiO range offered decent value for money and was a cheaper alternative to many of the other Windows Mobile deivces on the market. Design-wise the UBiQUiO 503G looks similar to the iMate JAQ3 (both are manufactured by TechFaith Wireless). In fact the keyboards look identical.
