Sony Ericsson seem to be churning out Android phones with impressive frequency and this week we have another, the Xperia ray.

Upon first inspection the ‘ray’ looks a bit like a smaller Arc with similar design elements. The thing that really stands about about the ray, though, is the display. Despite it being only a 3.3 inch screen SE have managed to cram 480×854 pixels in to that small space and the result is an extremely sharp screen with high pixel-density and it looks great.

When Sony Ericsson released their X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro handsets last year they were met with fairly mixed reception. Initially there was a lot of interest the two little devices but as they shipped with Android 1.6 and it became more apparent that updates to later versions of the OS were less and less likely their popularity was somewhat short-lived.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo gives you great photos every time thanks to its high-quality 8.1-megapixel camera. And when you want to talk face to face in a video call, there’s a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The main camera lets you take advantage of face recognition, so everyone in the picture is in focus. There’s also Exmor R technology, which is great for photos in even the lowest light. You won’t find these features on the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY.

I’ve recorded a few videos of the XPERIA Arc already but previously I’ve only been able to look at a prototype build. I few days ago though I was lucky enough to get my hands on the final retail version of the handset and as promised I’ve recorded an unboxing video which you can find below.

Hardware-wise there’s no difference between this and the earlier version that I looked at but the retail version does have the latest ROM build which is a bit more fluid than the prototype, probably because it’s no longer set up for debugging.

Rumours of a Playstation phone have been circulating for months so it wasn’t too much of a surprise when Sony Ericsson officially announced the XPERIA Play last month at MWC.

The Android-powered Play has a large capacitive touchscreen display which, at 4″, is going to be great for both gaming and video play back. There’s also a 1GHz Snapdragon to keep the game play fluid.

Not actually an unboxing video in the literal sense but thought this was a video worth including as it’s the first look at the Arc.

A few weeks ago we got to see the new Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc at MWC and later at a small event in London. James and I were in attendance and we were able to record a short video of the Arc in action. We were both really impressed with the Arc, it has a wonderful display and feels like a quality piece of hardware.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 unboxing video

The X8 is the latest in the Xperia range and is the X10′s little brother. Sporting a 3 inch touch screen the Xperia X8 does run Android but at the moment it is only version 1.6 which may influence sales figures to be honest. That said, the X8 does come with some pretty nice specs and it both looks and feels good in the hand.

Sony Ericsson Zylo unboxing video

The Zylo is available from around £120 SIM-free and from free with a contract. It represents pretty good value for money with 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, Google Maps, MP4 playback, 3MP camera supporting Geo-tagging and Twitter, Facebook and YouTube clients.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro unboxing video

A few weeks ago I managed to get my hands on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini and we were able to unbox and review that here on site already. Overall we were impressed with the phone, it’s a bit of a niche device that obviously wont suit everyone but we liked that it kinda broke the mould.

This week we have the X10 Mini Pro which is the X10 Mini’s chunkier big brother, the Mini Pro packs a sliding QWERTY keyboard though which is what contributes to it’s additional bulk.
