Samsung’s latest and smallest Android handset to bare the Galaxy name, this is the Samsung Galaxy Mini.

There is some stiff competition at the lower end of the market with devices from both Huawei and ZTE having virtually identical specification yet coming in at 40% less cost than the Samsung. The Wave 2 is Samsungs 2nd device to hit the market here in the UK running the Korean companies own operating system, Bada but now at version 1.2. I reviewed the original Wave and it got a pretty good review from me apart from my dislike of pricing when it came to Samsungs own app store. Have things improved at all?

The most obvious great feature with the original Wave was Samsungs Super AMOLED screen technology that frankly is amazing. This new version however has a Super LCD screen instead which we are eager compare with the original Wave. Most of the other specs are very similar when comparing the two devices. Lets have a look in the box and see if it has the WOW factor.

The Samsung Galaxy S II (Galaxy S2 or i9100) has to be one of the most eagerly awaited handsets of the year. Last year’s Samsung Galaxy S was hugely popular selling tons of units and really making its mark.

The Galaxy S2 is one of only a few handsets around at the moment to have a dual-core CPU and this one is really special. a 1.2GHz Arm-cortex A9 CPU with a Mali-400MP GPU along side. That along with 1GB of RAM and 8 or 16GB of internal storage makes this one of the best specified handsets out there at the moment.

Samsung are back with another handset using the Galaxy name, this time the Galaxy Pro. One of just a couple of Android handsets to have a fixed, forward-facing QWERTY keyboard.

The keyboard on the Galaxy Pro is quite large, the keys are significantly bigger than the keys on a BlackBerry for example and as a result the Pro is quite a wide bodied handset, a fairly large slab.

The 2.8″ screen is a capacitive touchscreen which, as a BlackBerry user, takes some getting used to. I all too frequently tried using the keyboard or looking for a trackpad to interact with menus. It’s a shame though that the screen is only QVGA, the resolution feels really cramped.

Samsung Galaxy Ace unboxing video

Despite it’s mid-range price the Ace offers quite a lot for the money. A 3.5″ HVGA display dominates the front while on the inside you’ll find an 800MHz CPU, 512MB RAM and WiFi supporting wireless n. What sets it apart from the likes of the HTC Wildfire is that the Ace ships with Android 2.2 Froyo. All-in-all a decent little handset when you consider the £199 price tag.

Google Nexus S unboxing video

Google announced the Nexus S, the follow up to their first own-branded Nexus One phone, a while but here in the UK it started off as an exclusive to the Carphone Warehouse. However, from this week you’ll be able to pick up the Nexus S from a number of other retailers. We got our review model from Clove Technology.

You may recall my review of the Nexus One last year and that I was a big fan of the phone at the time, HTC did a good job with the build quality but with the launch of their own HTC Desire, complete with HTC Sense, my Nexus One was soon left behind.

Samsung Galaxy Apollo Unboxing Video

The Samsung Galaxy Apollo i5801 is one of those devices that comes with pretty good specs and is extremely good value for money. AT under £150 on PAYG you get Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2), 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack just for starters.

Yes I know it’s not an unboxing video as such but the demo phone isn’t in a box!

Actually this video was quite popular on YouTube so I thought I would add it here along with the unboxing of the Galaxy S.

With so many of us now using social media apps I thought would shown you how a few are handled on the Samsung Galaxy S that I reviewed recently. As you will see, the Galaxy S is a great mobile tool for taking care of your social media needs and with its 4 inch Super AMOLED display using these apps is a truly enjoyable experience.

Samsung S3370 unboxing video

The Samsung S3370 is part of their Corby range but this new low end touch screen device is now packing 3G so web browsing etc wont be quite as frustrating.

As I write this I am not sure how much the Samsung S3370 will retail for but I would imagine it will be inline with previous Corby phones and therefore on PAYG should sell for around the £75.00 mark.

I commented on it a few times during the video but I have to once again say that the Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy S is truly stunning, the video and photos don’t do it justice and words certainly cant either. All I can say is that it’s is incredibly bright and colourful and you have to see it with your own eyes to appreciate it!
