Great specs, but poor design and software ultimately let it down (in my eyes)…

The i-mate JAMA 101 reminds me of the old i-mate Jam (HTC Magician) and looks like an updated version of that device. It’s small, light and has decent syling. The JAMA 101 is one of the world’s most compact Windows Mobile 6 professional phones. The 2.4″ touch screen is housed in a stylish jet-black rubberised finish.

The specification is somewhat basic but the JAMA is a good entry level device offering decent features considering the size of the package.

I-Mate ULTIMATE 8150 unboxing video

The i-mate ULTIMATE 8150 is very similar to the 6150, same size and design with the exception of the screen and keypad – the screen is a little smaller to accomodate the keypad.

The i-mate Ultimate 8150 is a 640×480 touch screen device powered by Windows Mobile 6. Complete with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and XGA Video output support.

First impressions are that the 6150 is a nice looking device and it’s great to see another Windows Mobile phone with a VGA display and the addition of the VGA output is interesting. However, it’s strange how quickly new technology seems to become the norm so the lack of GPS is slightly disappointing.

I-Mate released another device, the 8150 that was virtually the same as this 6150. The 6150 has just a touchscreen and the 8150 has the additional numeric phone pad.
