The Glofiish X610 is like the V900′s ugly sister, there isn’t a TV tuner in this model but you can still find a built in SiRF StarIII GPS chipset and a reasonably fast CPU. There’s only 64MB or RAM though so it can struggle from time-to-time.

Eten have been around for a while and we have seen several devices under the Glofiish brand. However, the V900 it something a bit special as it’s one of a very few devices that has a built in DVB TV tuner that allows you to watch free-to-air digital TV.

Unlike some other handsets that I’ve looked at that boast the TV tuner feature this V900 actually works! Furthermore, you don’t sacrifice the rest of the spec for the TV Tuner as the V900 has a fast CPU and VGA touchscreen to boot.

Disappointingly though the V900 has yet to surface for sale here in the UK.

Eten / Glofiish M800 unboxing video

Here’s my video unboxing of the Eten / Glofiish (now Acer!) M800… a sliding QWERTY equipped Pocket PC (Professional) device.

Competing with the Kaiser (aka TyTN II) at the time was difficult, but with it’s VGA screen and excellent GPS, it was a decent all round machine.

E-TEN’s Glofiish X800 was, at the time, one of only a few handsets to have a 480×640 VGA display, fewer still also had built in GPS.

OK, I do realise that the Eten Glofiish M700 is far from being a new device, but it’s one that we didn’t get around to looking at when it was first released and it seems to be one of those devices that, despite its apparent abilities, has been overlooked by many.

This was the first Windows Mobile device to have a sliding QWERTY keyboard as well as built in GPS. It also has a decent 400MHz CPU. In fact, on the face of it, the only downside we can see with this device is the lack of 3G, lets see how the Glofiish M700 holds up once we start reviewing it though!
