There are quite literally hundreds of speaker docks available for iPod’s and iPhone’s but as yet there are very few docks available for the iPad. Whilst I’m sure that everyone will soon catch up and bring out their own models, Logic3 have been one of the first to market with their i-Station Podium product.

The i-Station is an amplified 2-speaker stand with power and volume controls on the unit itself. The nice thing about this is that you can use it in either portrait or landscape mode thanks to a swivel in the back.

Up until now nothing could touch the Apple iPod Touch for music, video and playing games but now that Samsung has released the Galaxy Player 50 Apple may have a bit of competition. Running Android 2.1 the Galaxy Player is not dissimilar from the Galaxy S in terms of look and its user interface. With many Apple haters out there this could well be very nice alternative. At £149.99 the Galaxy Player is cheaper than the iPod Touch 4th generation but it does lack a few features that the iPod has. It does however have a few that the iPod does not have.

A while ago Archos started to expand their offering though and are now offering Internet Tablets, Netbooks and also Media Players with both their own linux based operating systems and, more recently, Android OS.

This latest product that we have on review from Archos is the 3cam Vision. It’s a small portable media player with a 3″ touchscreen display capable of playing a variety of both audio and video formats. The 3cam vision also has a slightly more unusual trick up its sleeve in that it has a built-in digital camera capable of recording video and still images.

A few months ago I got my hands on the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet and we did a little review of the portable media player.

This time I’ve got my hands on the Archos 5 Internet Tablet to review. So at this point you may be wondering if I’ve just repeated myself in the last two sentences. However, the two devices are indeed different. The hardware on both the Internet Media and the Internet Tablet are much the same, the come in 32GB to 500GB models for example. However where they differ is in the operating system. The Internet Media tablet having a custom Linux-based OS and the Internet Tablet has a more standard Android operating system. We thought it would be worth seeing what this Android version had to offer.
