I’d been looking for a small and inexpensive HD camcorder for a while and when the Aiptek AHD Z500 plus HD came along it seemed too good to be true, offering 1080p and 720p recording on an SD card that could then easily be used in a PC card reader seemed ideal.
However, the Z500 plus doesnt perform particularly well, it’s even worse in low-light as we found out at a press event!
You’ll find these cameras with a number of different badges from Aiptek to Toshiba but they’re are all the same on the inside.
